PROGRAMME MANAGER
Reporting to
Divisional Manager
Scope
Responsible for allocated programmes and projects, ensuring that programmes are completed on time, to the expected quality requirements, within budget.
Main Duties
1. To assume total responsibility for the management of allocated programmes and projects.
2. To have total and complete understanding of each contract, and programme under the programme managers control
3. Define, communicate, execute & monitor the programme plan schedule and prioritise specific to individual contracts and programmes, in line with agreed contractual requirements, with appropriate work packages, key milestones and budgets for each stage of package
4. To hold, chair and present at programme meetings such as design, progress and contract reviews
5. Detailing and reporting contract issues, priority and risks, informally and formally at contract reviews, production meetings and customer reviews.
6. Manage and report fiscal performance of the programme , adjusting the plan in accordance with programme needs
7. Communicate succinctly and honestly with all levels of the programme team and the wider TMD business.
8. Communicate with customer, programme progress, problems & solutions directing divisional and TMD company resources, in line with the overall business plan and priorities.
9. Where appropriate, development and training of own staff, recruitment and appraisal.
10. To undertake any other task, which may reasonably be requested.
11. To comply with the Company Policy on Health & Safety
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
1. Knowledge of Manufacturing Programme Management
2. Proven track record of successful programme completion to deliver committed objectives.
3. Ability to lead and influence a team
4. The ability to demonstrate effective communication skills to all business areas
5. Ability to work with teams at all levels of the business
6. Strong financial awareness
Other Requirements
1. A manufacturing background would be advantageous as well as Engineering and Defence knowledge.
2. Degree level educated or equivalent.
3. PRINCE, or Association for Project Management, Foundation Practitioner, or Information Systems Examination Board qualified, with relevant experience of working with Managing Successful Project or Programmes methodologies would be desirable.
